I posted this on WBF but since I consider AS to be my Hood thought I should post this here as well.
I have had some time to break in the new speakers. Had some time to do some 2ch listening before the holidays. I'm impressed with how good this combination worked. Boulder 866/Vimberg Amea. They were extreme clear the 866 probably helped out on that. I found the experience very comfortable, not straining to pick anything out, effortless. I enjoyed my time.

I know the Vimberg Amea very well. They're what I listen to daily. I'm sure the combination with the Boulder 866 would be great! Glad to hear you're enjoying them.

I have the 866 and have auditioned the Ameas several times with the 866 at my dealer's. My wife and I both think they sound great with the Boulder. I'm replacing stand mounts now (B&W 805 D4's) and am leaning toward a floor stander though. I can't afford the Mino but I do love the sound of the Ameas.

FYI
I don't use the stands. Still sounds great. I do have Nordost sort cones under one speaker and happy feet under the other. Both insulators sit on hockey pucks. Just happens to be what I have around.I have a guess what stands would do to improve the sound. I don't have the real estate
for the stands also I like the height of where they are.

Hi there. I noticed you carry JL Audio. To match the speed of the Ameas, I'm assuming a 10 inch sub will be the best match such as the JL Audio Fathom f110v2? I've heard the REL matches extremely well with Vimberg but I can't seem to put the money into a REL that's made in China vs the JL made in the USA.
Thanks.

Hello Gene, yes we do carry JL Audio. We used to carry REL in the past and I'm sure you could get great integration with REL as well. The Fathom j110v2 as you mentioned would be a great fit depending on the size of the room. We currently demo the Vimberg Amea with a pair of the JL Audio e110 and it works extremely well. You wouldn't have to use a 10 inch sub though. There's absolutely no reason a subwoofer with a larger driver couldn't be used as it requires less excursion to do the same work so speed as you mention, in my opinion, is a non-issue.

I had to replace the caps in both my JLs. It was not cheap (Approx $1000/sub) and month without the sub.

This cost me money so they don't stand behind their product. We won't talk about time without my sub which was measured in months.
