Vienna 2026

Interestingly, I watched a few minutes of the Hi Fi Five earlier today and the 4 that attended were positive about the location and new venue. As someone else stated, audiophiles don’t agree on just about anything! LOL

PS - I’m thinking about attending next year. I like Vienna a lot and the show would be a nice plus.

Hi Elliot - I used to plan large scale events for corporations. With such experience I can state by all accounts they blew it this year with easily avoidable mistakes from a group that has so much experience running this show.

From Gregory's review, I gather that it was the building and exhibitor spaces that were the big issues. It appears that there were way fewer rooms that were conducive to producing good sound (regardless of how hard they tried) than is typical at a show. Those hard floors look like a challenge, as do the room sizes in general.

For sure. The number of rooms the show was going to need was not a surprise to them.

I'm honestly surprised how such a seasoned show with so many years under their belts blew it.

Makes you wonder if maybe there was a change in those responsible for show operations.

Funny how opinions can vary so widely. I just read J. Valin's report on $50K and up speakers at Vienna, and he concluded the article by saying that the Vienna rooms were in general sonically superior to the Munich show's rooms. Go figure...

*EDIT: I hadn't read the "Clarisys Setup Vienna" thread for perspective on certain reviewers before posting this.

It looks like the reckoning that the establishment audio media is facing (the forewarning of which was ridiculed by their supporters) is well underway.
