SACD, CD, Streaming, FM, digital radio...

This offers the possibilities of the MP 3000 HV Multi Source Player and those of the PDP 3000 HV SACD Player.
Tuner, streamer, DAC, transport all in one gorgeously looking box.
If the DAC is the same as the one in the PDP, this is a terrific solution.

Remember my comparison with the Accuphase stack.
The T+A came frighteningly close.
Another customer even preferred it.

I love the T+A stuff. Build quality is right up there with Accuphase. Sonics are right up there with other top Euro gear.

I was a bit surprised about the 3100 HV series, difficult to see what is the difference compared to the well reviewed 3000 HV versions. I think the amp has 50 wpc more per channel, but otherwise its the same. And of course the price increased by 40%...

I don't understand disc players that are more than CD but don't include support for all the audio disc formats (i.e., SACD, DVD-A, BD Audio).

I read today that the recommended retail price of the T+A MP 3100 HV will be 13,500€ in Europe.
This is not more than the PDP 3000 HV SACD Player, even a bit less.

I agree. My pet peeve is CD players that don't play SACD. DVD-A and BD Audio I can live without (or buy an Oppo). But for stacks of CD's and SACD's, I want a device that can play them all! The Esoteric, Accuphase and T+A perform this nicely.

Do you guys think we are missing the boat by not having a full fledged digital hub (CD, SACD, USB for digital audio streaming, etc.)? See my thread here: http://www.audioshark.org/computer-digital-audio-11/good-old-cd-player-10300.html

I enjoy streaming my music (from the NAS), Tidal, etc. But I can't help but think that all the "Made in China" power supplies for the NAS, Router, Switch, the miles of ethernet cable, boxes, more cables, boxes, more cables, etc. isn't the best way to hear the CD rip. Certainly it's more convenient, but....I do wonder.

Mike.......No offense intended for theT+A MP 3100 HV but I think the Aurender N10 answers and solves those issues quite nicely. I am still in complete awe of the N10 performance.

I agree. I still like to pop in a CD once in a while. Must be the tactile action I crave. Don't know.

I think the T+A PDP comes quite close, has everything except NAS storage.

That mp 3100 hv looks like a beautifully thought out one box unit. Very nice!

Have had the amp and player in my system for a while, can only second Mike: build quality is stellar.

There is also a review of the new PA 3100 HV amp + power supply in German Audio magazine. They rated the combo above the D'Agostino Momentum integrated.

Maybe it's because they're a German manufacturer and magazine, but nevertheless.

I've been high on T+A for over 3 years now. Glad they are finally getting the recognition they deserve. The stuff is built like a tank and sounds excellent.

Mike,

Is this brand considered a "High-Bandwidth" Design?

Mike,

If by that you mean a design with a bandwidth into the MHz range, then the answer is no (for whatever potential benefit that spec might have to you.) Their preamp and integrateds in the HV series have a rated BW from 0.5 to 300kHz, and the power amp from 0.5 to 180kHz. Everything is relative and specs don't definitively determine ultimate sound quality performance.
