Vera-Fi Video - what happened?

Doesn't sound good. Hopefully, just logistical glitches that can be fixed, but given the history there is reason for concern. There are certain federal agencies that sometimes take an interest in such matters. Especially given the history.

Well honestly i got from them 2 SFDBs with fantastic communication behind, on time. Had to send them back after a year or so to change the rating (free of charge BTW) as I changed the amps and it went super smooth again from CH to USA and back in a couple of days and they even paid the return shipping to CH. I have bunch of friends using their SFDB here in CH with the same smooth experience so from my side all super good with them.

I certainly hope the company can make things right and the customers are taken care of so it's a win for everyone.

I also believe in giving second chances. I also have a very hard time with giving third, fourth, fifth chances... especially as someone who dealt with a similar issue a couple years ago. I worked out a deal on a new McIntosh amplifier using their trade up program with a local "dealer". Several calls, and much time later he still had not delivered the amplifier. A call to McIntosh showed that he never even ordered the amp.

American Express and McIntosh stepped in. A/E refunded my money and McIntosh arranged for a dealer in KC to deliver the amplifier to me (3-4 hours away), at McIntosh's expense. I later received a letter from an attorney stating that the state stepped in and he was forced to go out of business (I guess this must have become of common practice for him) and was working out some kind of method to reimburse those that he had defrauded.

Therefore, my trust level is low when I start hearing "stories" from any kind of sales associate, especially one dealing with expensive products. As someone who has always held the moto, "my word is my bond", I simply cannot tolerate liars, no matter what their excuses are.

Considering Marks very checkered past and the fact that he is on parole for fraud I would not buy a thing from him. Yes I have bought a couple of his Puron filters and SDFB on clearance off USAM.

Color me stunned that the audio world keeps giving Mark chance after chance. And he keeps proving to be the same old guy he's always been.

If you weren't around for the AV123 days you may not have a full appreciation of the scope of his shady ways... running raffles to help poor orphans overseas, but then pocketing the cash and using it to live large with nice cars etc. Pure scum. We aren't talking slight accounting irregularities either.

The part that got me was even after his conviction and sentencing, he always walked the line with vague talk about how everyone makes mistakes, but also about people out to vilify him and destroy him etc. Truly unhinged talk at times. And very little accountability as far as I could see.

Almost immediately upon his "return" there were problems with his new brand Core Audio Design. Delayed or missing products, vaporware, the usual stuff. I myself paid for an Equi=Core 1800 that never materialized, as I hadn't realized he was involved at that point. Should have done my homework. Thankfully was able to do a chargeback before it got too late. Others were not so lucky.

When Core Audio Design was "sold" to Underwood HiFi, I thought that might be the end of Mark. Nope, he popped right back up again with Vera-Fi, and people ate it up all over again. It's wild.
