Whatever happened to this brand Veloce? making waves about a year ago?
Do you guys think this will suit H30 Monoblocks?

Regards
Vel.

Output Impedance

<100 Ohms

Looks good to me. I heard the preamp two times and thought it was great.

Yes - i heard great things about it too - but have since disappeared (no news in 2014 and in 2015) and a few used in the market - wonder whats wrong...

Absolutely nothing wrong with the brand , I'm in touch with the guys at Veloce and all seems OK. I have the LS-1 preamp and a pair of the Saetta mono blocs - stunning performance . They use Hypex modules which I think is the way to go with the best Class D implementations (like Mola Mola) but the kicker of battery power combined with the 6H30 tubes in both the preamp and amps is IMO, a killer combination. In common with a lot of class D though , you need to pay attention to matching them with speakers that dip down to 2 ohm territory since their design doesn't do what beefy A/B designs like the H30 can . 320W into 8 Ohms , 400 at 4 Ohms . You want to keep them at > 2ohms. That's a pretty wide envelope and within that - they're killer. The build quality is out of this world. Great image saturation, very full/meaty presentation - quite similar to the Hegel in many respects. PM if you'd like contact details for the founders.

I'm using the Lithio version of the line stage- it replaced a Lamm Reference. I used it with Lamm ML2s and it sounds wonderful- got some real DR supertubes loaded into it. The guys at the company are also great. I've had the unit for a couple years now, and have no plans to change it. http://

I recently added a Veloce Litho series battery powered pre to my Hegel H-30, running as a stereo amp. It sounds fantastic. No impediance issues what so ever, great sound stage, and bit more resolving than my prior tubed pre. When I have it set to input 1, for my computer audio source, a Playback Design DAC 5, even on volume control 1, the lowest output, it sounds relatively loud. My optimal listening level for this pre is now between 10-20. However, when I use it as Cinema bypass for my HT rig, with a new Marantz 8802, I have the volume set to max output on the Marantz, to get reasonable listening levels on the pre set to volume level 30. I did not have these miss matches of sound output/input level challenges on my prior pre.
I appreciate how much more quiet this pre is being battery powered, and the low level resolution, and enhanced bass response. I have not replaced the tubes, and bought this unit used. I found the customer service from Veloce outstanding. They quickly responded to all my questions, even though I was buying a used pre from someone else..and they still operate out of their Philly area plant. so highly recommend this combo.

+1. Great customer service and outstanding product

I'm very curious about a tube pre paired with the Hegel H30. When I went and visited Mike (Ritmo) up in Arkansas, we paired my H30 with his ARC REF 5 SE pre.
It had a beautiful tonality that was very addicting. So I would love to hear more about this combo.

I ran a Hegel h30 with a vac ren preamp and it was a great combo. But as good as the h30 was I thought the P30 was star of hegels show

I had been using my modded VAC phi beta with Siemens 6922 tubes, and it was a great match with the Hegel. I did try it with the P-30 solid state, and did not care for it. It absolutely sang incredible magic when paired with the new Thrax tubed preamp, and the DartZeel pre amp...those were the two best tubed preamps I heard personally when paired with the Hegel H-30, but they were both beyond my affordability index. The used Veloce came closest to allowing me to hear this magic of great tubed pre, with the Hegel solid state amp. I also heard it with the Constellation Inspiration pre, and did not care for the combo.
In all of this, the Hegel mates well with many different preamp combos, and I feel plays way above its price point for quality, reliability and detail. It does love a good power cord and isolation. Mine is on Stillpoints, and I use the wonderful EnKlein power cord; Big Tom...hard to go wrong

I do remember liking the P30 best with the vac 450s amp, and the H30 amp with the VAC tubed preamp, and thinking that was odd that the logical brand pairings didn't sound as good as mix and match ...but now realize best setups to my ears are tube preamp with well built solid state.

I think one has to be careful when pairing tube pres with SS amps eg. the output impedance of the tube preamp and the input impedance of the SS amp. Too high of the former and too low of the latter will lead to less than optimal sound.

I agree about the P30. I compared it to a few different preamps, including my Classe, and found that the H30 sounded much better paired with another brand of pre.
