The name has stayed the same but make no mistake about it - the LS-1 Line Stage in it’s new Lithio Series form is a leap forward from the already spectacular performance of the original!
The tube gain stage now sports paralleled 6H30 tubes They are still tied to a flexible dead-quiet stepped attenuator for the darkest possible “background”. The power for the audio circuit is provided by batteries, but new to this Lithio Series LS-1 the supply is now LOW VOLTAGE and DUAL MONO … +/- 40 Volts to be precise. The linearity and resolution has been markedly improved and your precious audio signal IS STILL isolated from the AC mains. Tube biasing continues to be handled by our unique UltraBias™ battery bias system.
Challenging design goals yields a play time of over 150 hours! Bespoke build quality lends a timeless air and collectors feel to a product that will stand the test of time. This is not a trivial product but is powerful and serious in a way all audio gear should be. It is something we are and you will be proud of!
The LS1 is a two box design with charger and supply separated from the all important main unit by a detachable umbilical cord. The main unit houses all tube circuits and the batteries. All panels on the unit save the top and bottom clamshell are made from stress relieved 6061 aircraft aluminum. The front panel is two piece affair comprised of a chrome front bar and handles mounted to a grained and anodized back plate. Manual switches and a remote control (volume/mute/input select/on-off) make up the user interface. The back panel includes an array or single ended and XLR inputs and outputs. For more specific information, refer to the specifications on the following page.

Joe, this is one preamp that I seriously wanted to try before I bought my 520 Soulution but couldn't get a demo in Oz.

Heard several times at ces and cas. They like it is not connected to any ac pollution at big hotels. Newer version not older one is the one to demo. Better sonics, especially bass. Hard to demo unit. Perrotta consulting may b able to help.

I am still thinking about this one. I am actually getting into a very comfortable space right now. I think the EAR 868 on my Dartzeel amp will be outstanding. :exciting:

Is Veloce Audio gone? I don't see a trace of them.

I think they have gone out of business. So sad. I really wanted one but never felt the love for battery powered preamps after my Dartzeel pre experience.

It's a shame if they have gone under. That preamp was a great one. Got to hear it compared to other top offerings and was always impressed with it.
