I haven't heard the new E series yet, but one significant feature that they are missing compared to the more costly Fathom models is the automatic in room equalization. The new e series are priced so much better may just look at getting a new one. E112 is only 1900 retail and street price will be closer to $1600.
Is the room correction that import in a sub?
Only Fathom models in the satin finish were discontinued, in gloss they are still available and can be seen here. I agree with other posters that the in room EQ is not that important in a HT application with a preamp/processor, but in a typical two channel system it is very helpful to achieve good integration. On the web site the fathom is discontinued. $2,000 -$2.200. I sold my F113 for $2,450 last august.
