I see the USGA is back to their nonsense making the course stupid difficult. Oh yes, let’s watch the pro’s shoot amateur scores.

It’s one thing to setup a course so it’s challenging, it’s another to make it so ridiculously difficult, it turns into a gong show.

True, after the first day the course is winning. But it's a lot more interesting than watching them play in what was a farmer's corn field. Or on a course where the big challenges are the lakes and rivers.

I agree, the wind was the biggest factor. That place is just plain hard on a calm day. It does seem a bit stupid that when you hit a good shot it doesn't stay on the green.

The US Open is intended to identify the best golfers in the world.

The #1 golfer in the world(DJ) is one of the co-leaders.

Well wind was a bit of a issue but they all played in the same conditions. In The Open it's always windy so pros know how to play in the wind. I don't think a huge group of players should be going 6 or 7 shots low the first day. It's not supposed to be easy, now the second cut of rough is a little nuts but in The Open it's waist deep.

The US Open is all about hitting balls in the fairway making quality approach shots and putting the ball on the green to putt. If a player fails to do that well 80's and above will be posted.

We will see today who makes the cut, I think you will some good golf today as the figure it out as the wind will not be as strong ene @ 7 with 10mph gust and maybe some rain.
