Did anyone else watch last nights US Men’s National Team play Mexico in what was as exciting a soccer match as one could hope for. It had everything.
It had:
A 2’ goal
3 scuffles
2 equalizers
Anti-discrimination protocol
Goalkeeper injury sub
Extra time
A perfectly played match winning penalty kick
A match winning pk save in the last minutes of Extra time by a guy who seldom plays
Fans injuring players
Broadcast booth invader
Pitch invaders
Manager red card
A 22 year old ready to take on anybody.
The average age of the US team is just over 23. The lowest of any top 100 team in the world. The next closest is over 25.
A meaningful win against their biggest rival. No they aren’t at the level of the European or South American clubs but they are talented a fun to watch.
Anyone who thinks soccer is always boring should watch the replay of last nights match.
