I am having a case of upgradites, but being retired I need to be a little prudent. Right now, the stereo is perfect and there is no logical reason to upgrade anything, but what does logic have to do with it.

I will wait for the next generation of Shunyata gear to be released before that upgrade, so that it out. That Pass electronics are perfect, so that is out. When Lumin releases the X1 replacement then I will get that, but that most likely won’t be for a year or two. If Magico comes out with an S5 Mark 3, or S7 Mark 2 then that is a definite maybe.

Decisions, decisions, decisions.

Bud, you have an excellent system. How much do you spin CD’s?

Maybe wait a little bit. [emoji6]

Mike, I am thoroughly disappointed. You did not mention to add an analog setup (turntable). I guess I will have to do it for you.

Hey Bud, add a turntable and get ya some vinyl. I was 100% digital with no plans of ever getting back into records. Mike's urging and a couple of other people making the plunge, not to mention some audio club buddies... a year later and I have two. Big warning though... it becomes addicting... I now have over 200 albums...

I love my digital as much as ever, but I do love spinning those 12" disks. I recently obtained the ability of recording my records digital (when I don't feel like flipping records, and for my portable), so I have been doing that as well :).

I know Bud, he’s been to the store, there’s no chance in that happening. Although, I whole heartedly agree with you.

I buy new music every week from HDTracks. If I buy a CD I immediately rip it, so I haven't turned the CD player on in over a year.

Bud -

You have a great system. If you wanted to improve on the digital front, the Esoteric N1-XD is a definite step up on the X1. And, don’t discount the Kharma speakers. They are wonderful and are superb with Pass.

While you say you’re pleased with the Lumin, certainly the Taiko Extreme would be worthy of consideration. I have not heard anyone comment other than it transformed their digital music playing.
