I meant to ask is there is a potential downside to using 12v?

Yep, the way I read this we took similar paths and are hearing similar results.
The common passive ground works wonders, but can and will back fire so don’t settle on different ensure it’s better. I only came across negative affects on my turn table and phono - in this case all was fully balanced connections.
Enjoy!

Unless I missed it (quite possible), I haven't read any listener reports that have compared a stock SOtM sNH-10G (no upgrades at all) at $800 to an Uptone Etherregen at $640. I would be very interested in reading about such a comparison.
In WBT a member did the test and in his opinion: SOtm with updates better than ER, but ER better than SOtm without updates.
Regarding the AQVox SE and the GigafoilV4 Filter
Would either of these slow down my 940 Mbps connection?
The EtherRegen is $640.
The only place in Europe that sells it asks about 800euro for it.
What updates are we talking about?
The SOTM is about a 1000, the Uptone is about 800 and the AQ-switch SE is also 800. he Anzus is even more expensive, they start at 2k.
It all seems to be a lot of money for a switch, just to listen to Qobuz.
And you have to add $ 34 of transport, plus the commission of Fedex for customs procedures. That isn't too far off when you consider the 20% VAT. ($640 + 20% would be ~$770). converting to Euros (577 Euros + 20% = almost 700 Euros.
The break-in goes through a bit of downturn before getting better IME. I lost track of hours but probably over 150 hr. It’s now even better than the last time I reported. More focus and clarity with a sense of ease. About 3 days ago it was that relentlessness that you usually get with some component break-in.
I’ve concluded ER is quite good and worthwhile add to any system that streams music. It responds well to aftermarket LPS. It also works very well using in conjunction with Gigafoil. This leads me to question if there’s additional benefit to be had to use in series with more than one ER. For example, ER > ER > Gigafoil > DAC. SOTM reportedly claims daisy-chained SOTM 10G switches are better than one.
The unit definitely needs at least 100-150 hours for the sound to settle in. Even if you use it in a non-audio place in your network I would give it time before making a final assessment. I found that the sound of mine changed for quite a while.

No, I don't think so. Some folks, including a good friend, have reported that ER sounds even better when using the Uptone Audio LPS-1.2 power supply over the stock, supplied one. Gonna try this today.
