I quite often sit in front of my system & wonder why would I change it. Even though I know there are better speakers or amps etc, I am just so enjoying what I have. At the moment I have a system revealing enough & set up good enough to be able to tell if different filters are used in the mastering on the same album. I have had better systems & lesser systems but just seem to be at piece with this one, except for the desire to do better in my own space.
Are there many out there that can say this but for some bizarre reason, we have to change it for what we think we need, will be better, even though we know that it is chasing an idea that is gossamer thin?

I have to admit to being guilty of this.
I had a very satisfying setup until all the hype over DSD happened.

I moved my very capable but perhaps dated DAC to try out a Lampizator converter. After getting a taste of DSD and rediscovering the relative virtues of PCM, I find myself following the DSD256/512 discussions! I kept it under control until the fantastic Job INT showed up on 6moons ...

Let's see how long this phase lasts.

It's a great piece Nikhil. I am enjoying the heck out of mine. It makes my JBLs sing, but I haven't tried it on the Strads yet. I am just having too much fun.

LOL! Yes it is ... but the Job INT might just be the perfect antidote (I hope!)

George, you've had those Summit X speakers for a while now... ;)

I am very happy with my current system and enjoy my time listening to it. It sounds so good that I spend my time immersed in the music and not in thought about how I could make it better. However, I'm under no illusion that the sound couldn't be better. For example, just as the Ref 6 preamp made a big improvement over the Ref 5SE in my system, I'm certain the Ref 10 would be another positive jump.
