Upgrading AES/EBU cable.

Ok, I've been researching AES/EBU cables, looking for something in the less-than-$2K range. I only tried Wireworld AES/EBU cables when I selected my present cable, finding that the Platinum was only a slight improvement over the Gold in my system and not worth the 3X cost.

Any recommendations?

Siltech Royal Signature Golden Ridge II - that's what I'm using.

When I went to the Shunyata Anaconda AES Digital cable my eyes opened. A very high frequency noise on some songs that irritated the slight tinnitus in my left ear was gone. I had bought the Auralic Vega DAC soley because it has digital filters and hoped they would eliminate it. While it was muted, and no longer irritating, it was still there. The Shunyata AES eliminated it.

Bud,

What cable were you using before the Anaconda?

Now that's what you call a recommendation!

I use CAT5e with adapters for AES3, works OK for me over 25m. The Cat5e to XLR adapters plug directly into the transmitter and receiver.
There's enough bandwidth in Ethernet cable for AES3 to several MHz, the twisted pairs keep the interference down.

Soundstage and image are rock solid (dependant on the recording as per usual). Not too sure if shielded Cat5e/6 is used, the shield transfers to Pin 1, imagine it would, but have not researched.

For the cost of the adapters which are quite robust usually nickel plated, worth a try?

I use Furutech Lineflux for Aes.
I have Van Den Hul Aes too.
I prefer Furutech for accuracy and the music is in 3 dimensions with. There is more bass.
With the Van Den Hul, the sound is more like Turntable but it's lack accuracy and the music stay in my loudspeakers.

DH Labs D110.

Not tried anything more exotic, but this seemed way better than my previous Black Cat Silverstar 75 BNC cable.
Different connection type I s'pose...may have been a factor?
