Uh oh! Hey, what's this I see? An affordable outboard dac that can help with PC sound?

I think I may have found something for us small goldfish like me.

Having never heard a Hi-Rez file as it's intended due to lackluster sound quality from connecting a PC to a system via 1/8 mini plug and other downfalls of PC sound along the line, I'm wondering if this item may be an answer to improving that?
Product Lines > Parasound Z > Zdac v.2 - Digital to Analog Converter
I don't know what the price is as it is brand spanking new, but if it's the same or closely around the first version, we may have something here.

What do you guys think? I have heard that Parasound is well liked and I have a cooling unit from them that serves me very well. (Thank you Joe).

So would this do what I need? I know jack about outboard DACS. I'm assuming the analog section is output only which would make sense to me...sort of. I wonder what other uses there would be for an outboard DAC? Certainly not for my CD player, it has a DAC as does my Squeezebox and it's dac is not too shabby. My big Denon 4520 has dacs all over the place and does a good job playing streaming from Spotify and Pandora internally.
I need an outboard DAC education I believe.

Sounds like you don't really need a DAC since you don't want to use it with your CD player and you already have a squeezebox. Maybe you could ask them for in-home demo trial.
