Tube rolling on the Cary CAD 211 FE's

I've rolled tubes in the 211's and tried different combinations. The combination takes these amps to extraordinary heights. EVERYTHING is better - much much better.

Here is the winning combo:

Two Tung-Sol military 6SL7 black glass from 1950s - from Nikolay at Tubemaze

Two EL34PH's from: Psvane EL34PH Replica: ?More transparent, has more bass punch?more dynamyc sound spectrum? | Psvane & Shuguang Treasure Audio Tubes, Caps and Amps

Four 300b's from: Psvane WE300B 1:1 Replica (pair) | Psvane & Shuguang Treasure Audio Tubes, Caps and Amps

Four 845's from: Psvane WE845 Western Electric Replica tubes (pair) | Psvane & Shuguang Treasure Audio Tubes, Caps and Amps

I cannot believe the quantum leap this combo has made. Yes, it wasn't inexpensive, it was darn right VERY expensive - but WOW! Everything is better.

Also, I want to give a shout out to Grant Fidelity. It was my first time ordering from them and their service, fast shipping and quality product means I'm done with the eBay nonsense and being burned.

congrats on finding a winning combo Mike. notice i said a winning combo, cause there are lots of them out there still waiting for you to discover .lol. . one of the many beauties of tubes!!!!!
 
Nice Mike! I was just looking at those WE845's at Grant Fidelity today. $799/pr. Yowzaa!!! So what are you hearing differently?

MUCH better clarity and dynamics. Bass is greatly improved and the GL300b's bass was darn good. More three dimensional. And most importantly everything is just bigger. Huge soundstage. Textures....oh man....I was really hesitant because of the crazy prices....but it was sooooo worth it.

I'm glad I tried the tubes before the Stillpoints arrived or I wouldn't have had a clue just how good they were.

One of the things I like Mike, I am sure they not only sound awesome, but they are damn beautiful looking tubes ...Like art in a vacuum tube..
 
Hey Mike...I have my eyes on these ...but If I buy them I may be sleeping in the garage for a while...lol...Not bad $1300 for the pair of monoblocks including the tubes !!

70/110/140 depending on class. I definitely never leave Class A. It's sweet! 845's, 300b's and EL34's all in one amp = tube amp heaven!
