The sheer size and weight of the Tri TRX-M845SE monoblocks -- each amp is almost two feet wide and weighs over 120 pounds -- belie their $22,500-per-pair price, which is still expensive, but far below super-amp levels. These SET amps use 845 tubes (a single 211 is also an option) to deliver 50 class-A watts, and as the picture shows, each sports an attractive power meter front and center.
 
These are amps used exclusively to demo the Acoustic Zen Crescendo speakers in the last couple of years (pull up any show report and look for the Crescendo speakers and you'll see these babies paired up with them). I am intrigued by 845 tube but the only thing is bass performance is likely to be very tubey with passive speakers. Maybe solution is to get speakers with powered woofers and have this amp drive the mid and tweeter drivers.
 
I can only imagine how sweet and nice the treble/midrange sounds.
