Trigger for Pass Amps

What is the proper way to connect Pass monoblock amps to a preamp (in my case XA160.5s and an XP-30)? I'm looking for a ready-made solution as I'm not much of an electrician. :o

Also, and this may be a silly question, but what exactly triggers the amps to go on and off, since the preamp is always on?
 
Howard - you can make your own with relative little effort. I will let others weigh in on the best approach, but I just used a regular mini to mini cable, cut the ends off, stripped back the wire and connected it. I would talk to Mark at Reno HiFi. He might be able to make you up some cables or give you some good ideas.

What triggers it is a tiny 12v signal - I believe.

Sorry - I meant what events cause the preamp to tell the amps to turn on and turn off? I know it's not the preamp turning on and off, since it's always on.
 
Turn on preamp, it sends the signal (when it's ready) to the amp. My Classe takes about 5 or 6 seconds.

There is a button on the remote that triggers the amps to power up (if wired). I've never bothered with stripping a wire to actually use the feature however...

Yes. Once plugged in, the Pass preamps are always powered up. I would mute/unmute to play them. This keeps everything warmed up and sounding best once broken in.
