Long overdue to list my system. As many of you, it’s been a long journey that continues.

Quick history: I’ve been into audio gear since the 80s (yes I’m older 😉) when I was a kid. My first, real speaker shown as my avatar. MA FRM-1AX. I had a hiatus for a while and back into it for the past ~20 years. Please see my signature for details.

Latest additions
  • Audionet Stern – way bigger improvement than I expected coming from their previous reference the Pre G2.
  • Air Tight Opus One – still breaking in but already a beautiful, slightly on the warm side, detailed, ultra – black background and tonally accurate cartridge. 8 hours, 100+ more to go until broken in.
  • TotalDAC d1-streamer upgraded to the d1-Live on the way back from France. ETA: 1/24.
Future possible plans
  • Matching preamp mono block amps – Audionet Stern
  • Upgrade digital TotalDAC dacs from Mk II to Live (top level)
  • Allnic H8000 or CH Precision P1/X1
  • Complete Audioquest PC loom
  • Blow open back wall for a 24.5’D x ~18’W x 9’H room = ~4000 cu ft room.
As you all can tell, I’m a big believer in room treatment and subwoofers. Implemented correctly they can make a world of difference, fooling your ears into believing you’re in a bigger space with more tuneful and realistic low frequencies. Happy Listening!

@sb6 - I don't know you from Adam, but I must say...very nice my man. Very nice.

That ceiling fan though? If you would be so kind as to offer you my thoughts on that, I would be appreciative. I had one (very close to that in my old audio room) and if it was on low speed? There would be a whipping of sounds that drove me buckin' fonkers. As the speed went up? chop, chop, chop to the sound. Just at a faster rate.

At the end of the day, it annoyed me so much that I put up a flush mount and all of a sudden? My gripes with all of that went away. With what you have in your room, acoustically, and with the fan being where it is? Unless the heat in the room dictates that you MUST have it? My suggestion would be to lose it. Your ears just might thank you. FWIW. Thanks for hearing me out.

Agreed and on the to-do list. I never turn it on, however I never heard any audible problems when I used to use it on low from reflections, but what I do hear is a slight humming of the motor as the fan is getting old. That, plus, the ceiling is partially treated and a fan has to either go or be minimized via a flush mount smaller unit. That, and pot lights are in my future. :-)
