Totem Element Fire or Paradigm Signature S2

Yep.

Preferred the Totem's. By far..

Bear in mind that this is how it should be given the price disparity between the two speakers.

Most times... yes.

What did you like about the Totems over the Paradigms?

Hey Kobee,

There's a lot to like about the Paradigm S2's. They're clear, dynamic, easy to work with, and have a forward sound that a lot of people enjoy.

The Fire may not be my favorite Totem, but they offer quite a few strengths over the Paradigms. They're more refined sounding, they feature better driver integration, are more dynamic, boast of a less fatiguing top end, possess a fuller sounding midrange, and in my subjective opinion... the Fire's are more tonally accurate than the Paradigms.

That at least, is my take on the two speakers.

I own the Totem Element Fire. I also own the KEF LS50. I have B&W 803 in storage.

I adore the Totem Element Fire. It's... fun! It has all the resolution one needs, but it also... not sure how to say it... dynamic and integrated and organic?! And it's not fussy in placement, and the music sounds great from all over. I also love the LS50, but it *is* fussy. Placement is key. Sit outside the sweet spot and you're missing most of the magic. That said... it is about severely and quickly diminishing results, like all things audio. The Totems are over 4 times the price point of the LS50, but honestly I could also live happily with the LS50.

The 803? I keep them because eventually I will move to a bigger place again, and then I shall see what wins out... but I expect the Totems to win (and expectation dictates most outcomes :-D).
