Tone Audio Print Anniversary Edition

Is Tone expecting 12,500 people to pay US $8 each to get the magazine printed?

Seriously, how much would it cost to print 12,500 copies of Tone?

Jerome

Are you pledging the one available 10,000 spot that is still open?:congrats:

Four color printing is damn expensive. If you have a contract that ensures repeat business, print costs can come down a lot, but four color printing on glossy stock, and associated trimming/binding etc.; lets say the cost shocks a lot of small business owners. I can't speak to the individual project @Tone, or the value at $8, but it is not a trivial thing.

Hey Bob...looking at your avatar, you don't think both the Ref 75 and the power supply of the Ref 10 need more ventilation in your equipment rack? Just seems like there is very little clearance and things might get pretty hot on that rack? Just curious.

Sorry, back to the regularly scheduled programming...

I have the top off the Ref10 power supply, and the cover off the Ref75. There's more space than it appears in the photo, so yeah the bottom of the shelf above can get toasty, but not so bad to cause me concern. Thanks for looking out for me.:D

I pledged as well, a fan of Tone Audio. Hope it gets to print. It's an aggressive goal tho to get $100,000 in 30days...

Depends on how you have it done, how many color signatures, type of paper, prepress costs, etc. Assuming 20K copies, you could probably now do it for around $3 or so a copy on a webpress or less if you go offshore. That of course doesn't cover the costs of shipping (probably would have to go 3rd class), paying the writers, paying the graphics artists, proofreaders, etc. Lots of little costs add up.

I guess there is a large enough market to compete with the other print publications?

Strange, since the world seems fastly moving to digital. I understand there are some that like to hold and read their latest gear and music reviews. (It does help that other overlapping topics come up, beer, wine, cars..)

I've liked Tone Audio since the first day found out about them, I do wish Jeff and all the best!
