Wednesday afternoon, bourbon and Ron Carter. Ah, retirement.
Well, to be honest, this is the first time in months this has happened.

like this one a lot -- for those interested, it is being reissued by acoustic sounds / verve as part of their classic jazz vinyl reissue series. release date is ~4/16/21 with pre-orders being taken now.

Bobby Scott and his Trio "For Sentimental Reasons" almost smokey deep voice. Great jazz singer and piano player. Just mix your favorite martini, close your eyes and enjoy the entire CD. I always feel like I am in a small urban jazz club. Have a great weekend.

That’s a good one. Tone Poet series do it again. I’ve been enjoying this album quite a bit.

Montreal International Jazz Festival 1990.

I enjoy the simplicity of a few instruments. One can really focus on the intricate string work and talent of the musicians as well as the instruments themselves. Something about the bass played well that always gets me enthused.

Charlie Haden — bass
Jim Hall — guitar
