I can't really offer any meaningful comments, as this and an mp3[cringe] of Head hunters makes up my entire HH collection. Although, the music matters 33 of Empyrean Isles is on my wishlist. But of those three, desert island choice, (assuming equal sonics) Man-Child.

Yup that Music Matters release of EI is something special! I also laid down the green for Maiden Voyage and it puts the copy I had previously to shame. I'm glad I spent the money for both. The other Herbie Hancock I dig is Takin' Off. Watermelon Man is a gem as is Cantelope Island on EI.

I have to agree. Too many of the early jazz covers, IMO, lack creativity/artistry. I'd even prefer the occasional cheesecake cover.
