Thoughts on these floor standing speakers with SET amp

Have you looked at Martin Logan electrostats? These came to mind as stats are magic with tube gear, IMO, some models have amplification for bass with adjust t taste, and they are excellent in larger open areas, not to mention an interesting look.

I have not - in spite of the fact that they get great reviews, the aesthetics wouldn't match my living room decor.

Heard the Spendor D7's today. Quite impressed at the performance in the high range - airy yet clear with good detail (falls short of the A3 here but it is enough). The midrange is beautifully smooth and lush. Bass on the D7's was good but not eye opening. I can only imagine that the D9's would be able to dig deeper in the low range and solve that piece of the puzzle.

On the other hand, I also heard the Wilson Sabrina's and I was very impressed with that speaker. Out of my price range though.

+1

definitely worth throwing in the mix. great sounding speakers w/ tube amps. 48 wpc should be more than enough -- i have heard them with a parallel, 5 wpc 2A3 amp which was a dynamite pairing.

just out of curiosity, what is amp you will be using? i am always interested in SET amps -- esp. those with higher outputs.

I am using a Line Magnetic 805ia. Best amp that I have ever owned. It bested the Primaluna Dialogue Premium HP quite easily for me.
