This is for Doug aka dlb2 :) ---- OMG!

Aye Chihuahua Joe! :exciting: Those new pieces look great. I wondered how long it would be before they introduced separates. Anybody that thinks this is just more Chinese junk has their head in the sand.

I like this preamp...

The new 60 watt integrated. My little integrated weighs about 85lbs. This thing has got to be one heavy beast. Hopefully the U.S. importer will be bringing these pieces in. I've had mine for just over two years now and it still puts a big smile on my face every time I fire it up. Thanks for the heads-up Joe. You rock buddy! :woot:

Beautiful pieces, and the one with the monster tube, that thing is soooo cool. They all look like nice winter kit, you won't need your furnace.

 you Doug! I nearly feel off my chair when I saw them. Wow!

Eric, as an example. The 211ia EL34 integrated puts out 15 watts in triode mode and 22 watts in ultra linear mode and lists for $1650. I think that's a great price for this amp, but of course price is subjective.

I agree, if wanted one, that is not a bad list price at all! While that one is a bit too industrial and plain looking for me and still a bit more than I'd want to spend as a first timer with tube gear, it still offers plenty of hope. Thanks for finding that example Doug.:)

I just took a look at the Line Magnetic site (well, it's really several brands). Anyway, I seem to like the following:
LM Audio 805
LM Audio 219IA
LM Audio 518IA
Lebenon HiFi CS-300XS
Shindo Cortese
Montrachet EL34
Montille 6V6
Apetite 6V6
Of course, I'm only going on looks and have no idea beyond that because this is stuff I've never seen. I'm also probably looking at the highest list pieces too with my luck considered. LOL!
That said though there is plenty of work I need to do before executing a plan to try tubes.

Eric...the site you found is likely Tone Imports and they are the importer of Line Magnetic and the other brands you have listed above (Shindo, Leben, etc...). The Shindo and Leben gear is substantially more expensive than the Line Magnetic gear but all of these brands are well respected and have very strong followers.

What have we done to you :(

Uh-Oh.....

Eric

If you just want to stick your toes in the water on tube integrated amps, look for one of the Jolida or Antique Sound Lab ones from the mid-2000's. While not certainly an LM or Leben, they are more than respectable examples. Something like this:

Jolida JD-302CRC Virtually new 50wpc remote tube amp | Tube | Marietta, Georgia 30067 | AudiogoN - The High-end Audio Community

I like that, but that one is a little too rich for me. I'm looking to try tubes for 3 digits. Now, if that doesn't exist then there is little point in trying tubes for me. It's just a curiosity, not a goal, commitment or anything like that. Besides, I'd have to hear first as I can't afford to purchase and discover I don't dig it. Re-selling is not an option for me unfortunately.
I also have a lot to learn before I could even consider purchasing tube gear at any cost.
