Why??
I dunno. Crazy I guess:weird::weird:
Is the space is not an issue. I will get the extra MC275 . I still remember first time when I put the mono on SHL5. My jaw dropped to floor and I should stop this journey by then.....sigh.
:hey:Guys
Been doing some thinking lately about simplifying my system and here's what I've come up with:
Trade in my Mac Mc275VI amp and my Mac c220 preamp for the Audio Research vsi75 integrated amp.
What you Guys think:disbelief::disbelief:
Are you wanting to downsize in terms of footprint? I would say you would get a significant return from upgrading your C220 to a better preamp, more likely as a separate but also potentially as part of an integrated like the ARC.
Toobs-I just noticed the other components that make up your system and I think I have discovered the reason for your "itch"-you don't have any analog in your system. Cripes! No wonder you are breaking out in hives and looking for some salve to relief your "itch."![]()
I never understand why some people want to simplify a system in going from separates to an integrated unless it is for space issues, WAF or if you are starting out new and want to save some money. I would think down sizing would be the more appropriate term for some.
lmao!!!! good point.If WAF is an issue i recommend swapping out the "W" versus any audio equipment.
WAF drives lots of audiophiles to subpar systems. How many hapless guys do you see on Audiogon that claim they are selling their beloved gear because the wife says it has to go? Tons of them unfortunately. I know a guy on another forum whose wife has his stereo 'system' confined to the top of his computer desk. He has a pair of powered monitor speakers with a built in DAC. He hooks his laptop up to his DAC/amps/speakers (they are all one and the same) and bingo, there is his system. He was in the market for a sub for a period of time, but when he asked for advice, one stipulation was the sub had to fit under his desk. I suspect that when his wife is home, he is confined to listening to headphones. No wonder this is one angry guy who constantly tries to tell people that their big systems don't sound as good as they think it does. He is a total buzz kill. If he wasn't able to vent his anger on audio forums, he probably would have manifested several poltergeists in his house by now.
I try to advise all young married guys that are buying their first house that the only parts of a house a man normally gets to call his own is the garage and the basement. If you buy a house that doesn't have a garage or a basement, you are basically screwed. Somehow most men allowed their wives to control the house and everything in it has to meet their approval.
The moral to the story is give them an inch and they will take a mile.
If WAF is an issue i recommend swapping out the "W" versus any audio equipment.
