About a year ago we started construction of a 3 car garage with a living space above. I decided to build another theater in the space. ‘First Light’ was last Wednesday.
This is a combined 2 channel room and home theater. The 2 channel system is separate from the HT. While they both share L and R amplifiers and speakers, all the preceding electronics have dedicated power feeds and are isolated from each other with an XLR switcher.
The HT is a 9.4.6 Dolby Atmos theater with a 12’ diagonal CinemaScope 2.35:1 curved screen and a JVC 8k projector with an ISCO Anamorphic Lens and slide. 9 ‘bed’ channels, 4 subwoofers set up as a double bass array, and 6 Atmos height speakers.
This is a picture looking back into the theater. Two rows of seating. The front cabinet houses the 2 channel gear, the back houses the HT gear. The right wide front, right side, and right back surround speakers and the right Atmos height speakers are visible. The projector and lens are mounted so that they can be adjusted for centering, pitch, roll, and yaw. You can see the rear subs, entry door and kitchen area.

This is looking towards the front of the theater showing the LCR SF Amati speakers and McIntosh MC 2301 300 wpc tube amplifiers. The front height and wide speakers are also visible.

I can post more info if folks here are interested. It’s been a fun project with a lot of interesting challenges. The Trinnov processor is a game changer for multichannel immersive audio.
