The new JOB INTegrated Amp is coming !

I'm one of those who have "moved on", but I would just like to point out it had absolutely nothing to do with the Job's. I had the 250 monos and I loved them! I even changed my mind when I had a buyer for them as I couldn't let go of them, but in the end I had to. This was more a decision of scaling down to less boxes and cables and going for an integrated solution instead. My only "criticism" of the Jobs are the binding posts which feels a bit cheap, but once everything is connected and music is playing it is easily forgotten about. Highly recommended!

Hi, I’m looking for an integrated amp (preferably with DAC) and have come across the JOB INTegrated which maybtick my boxes.
Does anybody have any experience with Focal Electra 1008be speakers with the JOB, or focal in general?
My room is 4x5m, open to the dining to the right.

My speakers have a similar spec and sound great with the JOB INT.
I think you should be in a great shape with the Focal Electra 1008be

Quite frankly the INT will embarrass many amps ... it's really that good.

Bonus Tip:
Order some Duelund DCA16GA Tin plated hookup wire from PartsConnexion as speaker cable.
Don't bother getting them terminated. Just connect them bare wire and enjoy.
The Duelund does have a break in time period of about 200 hrs before it sounds best

Regards.

Just recently I added Western Electric cable to Job INT

WE 16 GA speaker wire + WE 18 GA based power cord.

For those familiar with Jeff Day's blog & Western Electric cable - I was very keen on trying the WE cables in my setup but WE 16GA cable has been pretty scarce. Just recently, I managed to get a power cord based on the WE 18 GA cable recipe and WE 16 GA speaker cable.

I first added the WE power cord in my setup. Something changed but it took me a while to figure out that it opened up the high frequency region giving it a sense of ease. While this was a subtle change it was enough to peek my interest further. Adding the WE16GA speaker cable was much more dramatic change in my setup. It instantly opened up the lower frequencies providing weight and foundation to the music. In comparison the Duelund cable was more centred on the mids and highs. The effect is almost like adding a little bit of sub woofer help.

I really like what the WE cable has done for my setup. Vintage tone mixed with ultra fast Swiss circuits is a very nice sound!

Thank you so much for the update. I’ll have to try the WE16GA cable. I still love my Job INT. It’s great, even on my AG Duo.

The cable I have was sourced from Japan.

eBay seller tajacobs (Jake) is a reliable source.
His cable though is 90s "vintage" but sounds great.

Just remember to order enough length of cable pairs. The cables from Jake come terminated with the original switchboard connectors. Just strip those off and use them bare wire.

Especially on the Duos.

I have a pal who was never satisfied with his Duos till he used the Job 225. Makes no sense, but the 225 improved the bass module integration, even though the bass module is ACTIVE. Head scratcher.

AG loves JOB.

Absolutely !!!

I love Job and look forward to more products from them.

Enjoying mine too. Still wish I could upgrade to the version with the direct analog inputs. Longing to try a different dac.

Me too. There's no "upgrade" offered. Was still thinking of ordering another just for that reason but I might just wait.

I was using the INT with an external DAC for a while. It works great but IC cable selection is key. I found the Belden 8402 to work really well. But yes it is an interesting thing to see if the straight analog input improves the sound. It also brings up the point of how much of a role the Alize chip plays in the sound of the INT. To me one of the best features of the INT is the tight integration of DAC + amp that removes the need for additional cables.

Ever since I have had the INT, I listen to all kinds of sources - AppleTV, Youtube, Soundcloud, TuneIn Radio - and they sound pretty good thanks to the Alize chip IMO. Of course DSD still sounds great when you send it down the wire but still it's interesting to see if bypassing the ADC would help improve sound from average quality sources.

My JobIntegrated has stopped outputting to the left channel. It's just about two years old, and the warranty is for only one year, so I'm wondering if anyone has had similar issues, and if so, how did you fix it. I assume there are some checks I can make (it's the left channel), but I don't have a schematic, so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Regards,

Don, I’m sorry to hear you’ve encountered an issue with your Job. Perhaps, fellow owners can chime in but most of all, I hope Job/Goldmund is able to take care of you.

I looked around inside for a fuse for each channel, and apparently they don't exist. So, since I'm out of warranty, I took it to a technician and he will see if he can fix it. If not, guess the only option is to send it back to Switzerland. Ugh!

Don,

I am not at my computer right now but I can possibly give you the names of 2 people that may be able to help you before you send if off to the home country.

I will respond late tonight. Fingers crossed.

Joe

Hi Don,

PM coming in a few minutes, I'm working on it now.
