Uh...what's to stop you, from upgrading the 2.5" drive??
Ooops; 2T is as high as they go now. Why not just a local, external drive?
There is no need to run AMM except for when you scan the NAS to update the database stored in the iPad with cover art and metadata.I just purchased my N100H. I am planning how I am going to store my music. I have way more than 2 TBs so I am thinking about storing certain items on the internal 2 TB drive and leaving the rest on the NAS. However, I will need to remove from the NAS the files I put on the internal so there aren't duplicates. Too bad the internal drive isn't a 3.5" drive so one could just upgrade to a larger drive.
I could just leave all the files on the NAS which requires AMM to be running.
Any pointers would be appreciated.

When notebook drives larger than 2TB are available it may be possible to replace the existing hard drive as long as power requirements are not greater.
Wait until AMM is done. Then go into settings (wheel looking icon) on the iPad app and you will see the option to connect it to your NAS. You input your NAS username and password.
Let us know how it goes.
Thanks Mike.
I have 102k files so it will take a while. I copied some items onto the internal so I had something to list to.
Done scanning - everything is there.
I keep swearing that I will no longer buy anything which requires me to learn yet another software package!
Newbie question: Is the only way to play an album to select an album and add all the songs to the play list? Can you play stuff directly without adding it to the playlist?
Next up: creating custom views.
Last question of the day!
When I make changes to the tags on my NAS do I have to rescan everything via AMM for the changes to show up on the ipad or does it just scan changed files? That is, will it take an hour every time I rescan if that's what it took the first time?
Anyone experience what I'd call drop outs? listening then it stutters . Also when switching files it sometimes sends a spike or loud static. Not sure if its the DAC or N100H. I have the Bricasti M1 DAC . Never had an issue with JRiver. I like the Aurender software and TIDAL interface. Now the kids can listen to Pop so pretty cool. Some stuff sounds really good via TIDAL.
I'm thinking my NAS may be to far from the Aurender but never had an issue before. Everything in the HD whatever type file sounds great. Did a re-scan w/AMM same deal. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thx!
Not here, but I'm wondering what USB cable are you using?
Two thoughts:
1) The "stuttering" is likely caused by your NAS. I would check things like, are your drives always spun up...or what is your file-structure like (i.e. are your files spread-out in a way, that they span several drives).
2) I don't know the M1...but does it have a Femto clock setting? I had similar trouble with the N100 and my Auralic Vega. I always set the Femto to "exact" (or whatever the highest one was, I forget the name). Occasionally, that would give me a stutter as well...while the DAC tried to lock onto the signal. "Downgrading" the setting a bit, usually helped...and had negligible effect on SQ.
I have to say; the switch to the H...has made the Aurender, 100% trouble-free![]()
