The Funniest Watch Review I’ve Ever Read

The price isn’t what made it funny. Just the concept of what this guy said about the minute repeater function, which most WIS (watch idiot savants) covet as one of the highest forms of grand complications in watches, had me literally in uncontrollable laughter!

Yeah I got that part, but I'm still not sure what a "minute repeater" is supposed to be (and I know it's not the teleport to Portugal thing ;))

A repeater is a complication in a mechanical watch or clock that audibly chimes the hours and often minutes at the press of a button. There are many types of repeater, from the simple repeater which merely strikes the number of hours, to the minute repeater which chimes the time down to the minute, using separate tones for hours, quarter hours, and minutes. They originated before widespread artificial illumination, to allow the time to be determined in the dark,[SUP][1][/SUP] and were also used by the visually impaired. Now they are mostly valued as expensive novelties by watch and clock enthusiasts. Repeaters should not be confused with striking clocks or watches, which do not strike on demand, but merely at regular intervals.

Ah, gotcha, thanks. Makes sense.
Yes, the comments are still very funny...unless one takes some stuff way too seriously. :)

Yes that was pretty funny! I believe I saw something similar about RCA one meter cables for something like $149,999 which did everything but flush the toilet. Come to think of it, it did flush the toilet.
