Darko did us a solid with this video. Please take this as humor.......I died when he got to the hygiene part.

Please share some of your awkward audiophile moments.

That was pretty good. Accurate and funny.

Yeah, we're an odd breed to a lot of people. When I have family or friends come into my room to listen I don't dare get into specifics of cost and details about the equipment, especially all the tweaks and accessories. Just say something like "there's a lot of moving parts here" LOL.

It all really is so strange to the outsiders.

Thanks for sharing.

Here's one for me: I'll spend $250 on a rare 1930's tube, but if my 99 cent coupon for my McDonalds Ice Coffee isn't working - meaning I have to pay $2.69 - I will literally drive out of the drive thorough line and leave without a drink.

Very good. It’s pretty hard to argue with any of that, but attempting to be a centrist is a tough row to hoe these days. I’m reminded of a line from Dire Straits, Once Upon a Time in the West:

“Sitting on the fence, that’s a dangerous course. You could even catch a bullet from a peace keeping force.”

There aren’t many bullets flying, but a lot of sniping is going on at the person trying to find some sanity in the middle ground.

Regarding the rudeness of so many hifi show attendees: It isn't just there. It is everywhere.

Has anybody been shopping lately?

Been to the airport?

Driven on the road?

Gone inside a fast food place to order food?

People's rudeness, selfishness and obnoxious disregard for anyone but themselves used to be the exceptions in public, with civil behavior being the rule. Sure doesn't seem like that any more.

Where do you live?

The video’s sponsored by Eversolo and loaded with WiiM cameos—something that might give pause to the crowd that loves to roll its eyes at anything labeled “Chi-Fi.”

I should have mentioned that. I am in Michigan. It seems like the pandemic may have re-wired a lot of people's common courtesy codes.

Michigan used to be a nice place to live. I lived there for 3 years as a young child and have spent some time there in the 1970's as well.

I retired and moved to TN where people are friendly and courteous. We also have no income tax and very low utility costs. Ditto for low-cost property taxes and car insurance.

I am sure that there are still nice places to live in Michigan. It just cost more than in TN.
