Technical expertise, please - PS Audio Stellar Gain Cell

I recently read a post on another website that labeled the PS Audio Stellar Gain Cell as “poorly designed”. This puzzles me, since I have that preamp/dac and I found its sound to be exemplary, so I was hoping someone with greater technical expertise than my own could enlighten me as to what characteristics could have possibly evoked such a statement because I don’t see it. TIA.

I know Mike had serious issues with their reliability and they even blew up some of his gear.
