TAD R1 incoming!

Hi Bib,

I never did try TAD electronics, but really wanted to. Dealers near me seemed very hesitant to invest in the gear and I didn't want to compound any issues. Plus I fear resale would have been not good should I want to move on.

Yeh it's a big investment no doubt.
Spoke to a local dealer today who carries Conrad Johnson. He doesn't carry totl stud though. Has a et5 linestage

It's not easy to demo gear. Especially where I live it's slim pickings.

Was talking to a dealer today though who carries the classe ca-m600 monos. Look forward to checking them out

Gear from Japan isn't too bad price wise as we have a fta with them

Another forum friend raved about the CA-M600's on his TADs. I think adding a sweet preamp to them would be amazing.

Would be great if they work for me. Not stupid money and I am a fan of understated looking gear eg Vitus, constellation and the like.

Bob, not to worry. You already mentioned you have the right cables (Siltech). I think I would suggest some proper room treatments before anything. If you can't do absorption or diffusion at first and second reflection points due to WAF, then tall silk plants at those locations will work, so will bamboo sticks or like what Raidho uses.

Very interesting thanks Mike.
Once my room is setup then room treatments are first on the agenda

Thanks Joe and Mike !
This is only a temporary arrangement. The works on my house will take 4 months to complete then I will have a dedicated room.
Will enjoy running in the r1 in that time in the rental unit [emoji38]
