Tacky!

I haven't had a chance to see this yet, but I met Weird Al and his drummer. Weird Al is a really friendly nice guy. I caught him before a show at the OC Fair. Actually, he caught me, he was out front near the main entrance goofing around with people. He was wearing some costume (I forgot what), but I had brought my mum to the fair and he came over and started teasing her. I figured out it was him by his voice and what he was doing. I just said "Hi Al" and told him I met his drummer and he started teasing me about not having a camera for a picture and whatnot. Pretty much most everyone knew it was him somehow. Then he tried to get me to follow him around, but he's too full of surprises for me and my mum didn't want anything to do with him. (She thought he was too weird, pun not intended). I met his drummer at a company picnic once and we talked for a while about the band and everyone, also a nice guy with many great stories to tell.

Cool story MusicDirector - it would be fun to see him in person!

But wait...there's more (apparently eight releases in eight days) - Handy:

I love Al Yankovic! Here's one of my favourites.

I showed this to my grade 12 physics class last year and nobody laughed. Half way through the video a couple of my students asked me to shut it off because it was too racist. What? They said they didn't like how it was making fun of black people. Geez.

Yeah, it's strange that I have never seen him in concert live personally, but managed to meet him and his drummer. I know a few folks who have seen him live and say that he usually puts on a good show and is pretty funny.
One of my favorite songs is the Pentium parody. One of my favorite originals by him is the Calling in Sick song.
I'm not familiar with his latest stuff though as I don't listen to pop radio so I don't know the people he is parodying.

Did you guys know that he is actually extremely intelligent, very high IQ and holds a high degree in architecture and I believe also has an engineering degree (I may be mistaken on that).

Not wanting to insert politics or anything here, but oh please. He is far from prejudice. People are just too quick to play the race card.

This is an example of how Weird Al really is. This is similar to what he was doing with me when I met him. Turning things around and teasing. Very nice guy though and can make anyone smile.

One of the best:

Total genius!

One of my favorites. I hate to admit it, but I did learn the lyrics.

Another of my favorites. They really nailed structure on this one: It's an original by the way.

Don't know if anyone has noticed, but there are tons of other celebrities in many of his videos. According to his drummer, that the reason for all the celebrities is because either they come to him wanting to be in his videos or instantly say yes when he asks. Even some of the artists he has parodied just think he is great.
