I just bought a Lenovo yoga 910 laptop with a i7 7500u and 16GB but I'm not sure it will have the horsepower to deliver DSD512...HQ Player takes some serious juice! Where are y'all buying computers for this type of application. When I start to look at the systems w the high powered processors, they are all designed for gaming.
I have been reading all day about approaches to consider w the DAC8 DSD...I have gone to school but have so much more to learn. Good times!
I run a Dell Inspiron 7559 with a 6700HQ and 16gb ram. It is a gaming computer with a switchable 960m graphics card that has CUDA that allows it to be used for additional processing power with HQP. It has a touch screen and it is an IPS panel which looks great.
Here is a newer version of it-

The computers above are great buys. Just need to add another 8gb ram. The Video Card does include CUDA. HQP has a setting to engage CUDA.
While the computer you bought has a good processor, the I-7 7500u is still basically a Dual Core I-5 and it will not be nearly as good as a true Quad Core I-7
I have another computer with an I7 6500u which is a dual core as well and it can't hold a candle to my I7 6700HQ when running HQP or Bug Head.
Make sure you turn off all unnecessary programs including your antivirus and all the bloated programs on the windows start page in your audio computer. Things will run smoother.
