I first removed the stock spikes, rings and bolt mechanism that holds the spikes in place and used some
ISOAcoustics. Like going from a stock spike to an MPOD, the difference was noticeable. Then, I removed the ISOAcoustics and went with a custom MBL 101e mk2 platform from Symposium, the Ultra Stealth Edition. These platforms have an optional (3rd constrained layer) black aluminum top to complement the mbl finish.

The result is even greater bass definition and a more subtle soft decay. It’s not a dramatic improvement over the ISOAcoustics, but subtle and a step up.

Agreed. Wouldn't want to be without my Symposium Ultras.

About $1600/each

That is ok, if it does the trick. My HRS M3X2 base is significantly dearer.

Do they come in different sizes, or is it standard?

Different sizes. This is custom for 101’s

I may need to consider these. No couplers?

If we remove the gold rings on the bottom of the 101’s, we can use the decouplers that shipped with the stands. If we don’t remove the gold rings, then no. I removed the gold rings and not using the decouplers to start.

Seems like a very cool and effective product. Did you have to adjust speaker positioning after installing theses? And, if so, how easy is to move both the platform and the speaker on top of it? Glide easily? Thanks

Actually, that's the primary reason that I use my Symposium Ultras. Of course they sound good - BUT I can slide them from the usual audiophile set-up (I'd say about 80% of the systems I've seen) to the better (correct) one & the clients are always 100% amazed.

They learn more about what should be expected (Reference) and how they can get there. Plus, when they improve their system's interaction with the room, it makes it FAR easier to evaluate a new component.

Room looks great Jim! Much cleaner look and I like what you are doing to show the value of proper setup.

Didn’t adjust position and they slide on my carpet no problem.

so how do they compare to the artesanias?
mainly interessted as an amp stand

I don’t think I could compare those. I have never tried the MBL’s on the Artesania.
