Surprised These Didn't Draw Any Attention

From what I understand, the one company that can claim to have made a great copy of the Telefunken 12AX7 was the original EI company.
From what I understand, the Phillips Delta code ECC83s from the 1960s had more jump factor than the telef ecc83s anyway. They certainly beat the equivalent Mullards.

Joe has some deltas now, so he can comment.

For the price of these, they are worth a try. Considering how much I've spent on exotic vintage NOS ECC803S/E83CC, these are cheap.

Curious about the KT88s too especially compared to the Russian Genalex Gold Lion reissues. Hey, with the current Russian trade embargo, are these still readily available?

Bump!

Anyone try any of these tubes yet? I may order some 6922's and maybe something else.

This is very exciting!!! JJ took over from Tesla. Tesla did inherit the old manufacturing equipment from Telefunken.

I thought Ei of Yugoslavia got the Telefunken equipment. At the very least, their 12AX7 looks and sounds very much like a vintage Tele Smoothplate. Actually, I think I like the sound of my Ei Silver Smoothplate tubes more than Telefunken. Imagine the Telefunken sound, but add a touch more warmth and a slightly more forgiving treble. It is really good stuff. If you can get good ones, that is. Word is that you can get an Ei tube that is a world beater, and then the very next tube off the line might be a microphonic dud. I have been lucky so far, knock on wood.

But as far as your dream that Tele has been resurrected, I think we are all in for disappointment. I can go get out my mom's recipe book, and bake a cake that follows the instructions exactly. But somehow it doesn't taste as good as when Mom makes it. Same thing here. The experience and the ingenuity of the old timers is gone. Whatever magic the old engineers had, from years of trial and error in getting the recipe just right, is sadly gone.

Oh, and the other interesting thing about these 'new' Telefunkens is that JJ Electronic claims that they have no relationship at all with the re-issue. The JJ tubes used for the Black Diamond series apparently don't come directly from JJ. Likely from a JJ dealer, but not company direct.

On another related note, New Sensor is pretty busy though! They are zapping up so many old school names! They sell under how many brands now? Sovtek, Electro Harmonix, Mullard, Genelex, just to name a few

MLGrado.......Yep, and New Sensor has also resurrected the Tung-Sol 7591 power tube as well. It has been getting good reviews. This is good news for vintage McIntosh and Fisher fans. They are being manufactured in the correct size of the originals from Sylvania and RCA, unlike the taller Electro Harmonix 7591's, so the new Tung-Sol's will allow the older vintage gear to continue to fit in original cabinets. I am getting ready to buy a quad of the new reissued Tung-Sol 7591's for my vintage McIntosh MA230 integrated amplifier just to have on hand for the future.
