Suggestions for setting up Lumin U1 mini with Jriver??

I have a Lumin U1 mini on the way to try out I picked up used.
Am using a Sonore UltraRendu right now and it works well with JRiver.

Are there a few must know steps to set up the U1 mini to use with JRiver?

I see there is an Lumin app that from what I have read is required to use to get started.
I do have an IPAD I can use, also an Android phone, and my main PC that have JRiver on right now.

Any suggestions to point me in right direction are appreciated. Thanks.

To use Lumin with JRiver, in JRiver - Tools / Options / Media Network / Add or Configure DLNA Server, add 24-bit Audiophile DAC. Turn on the option for Bitstream DSD (DoPE).

That seems pretty straightforward. I think it is already setup like that.
Will Jriver recognize it straightaway?

Setup was easy with Lumin app.
Jriver recognized it right away with no issues.

If you have the latest JRiver, could you try whether it can upsample 44.1kHz to DSD send it to Lumin via UPnP (so that Lumin display and the DAC display shows DSD)?

Last time I checked it could only resample for direct computer output, but not to network UPnP.

That is still the case as far as I can tell. The DSP Studio where one can change sample settings is not available for network streaming.

The Lumin app is all new to me.

What I did try last night out of curiosity is use CUSTOM setting on ReSampling in Lumin app.
Everything was set to go to 128DSD.

My PS Audio DirectStream DAC showed 128DSD on front display panel so the ReSampling by the Lumin does send an upsampled signal to the PS Audio DirectStream Dac which accepts it.
I ma not sure if it sounds better or not and the PS Audio DirectStream already does some sort of resampling and processing of all input signals.

Please set Lumin Re-sampling to OFF. It's probably best to send a native instead of upsampled signal to PS Audio DAC.

Will do. For some reason I can't get to the Lumin settings in the app.
It is streaming fine via Jriver and I am sending Native, sounds great, but app is locked up and cannot find the Lumin U1 mini.
I tried unistalling it and reinstalling it on my Ipad. No luck.


EDIT- Rebooted everything, including the wifi router and it is working fine again.
