StillPoint Ultra 5's

Any suggestions on how a product like this would work with my PMC IB2is that sit on stands. I know they could probably thread into the stands, but when the recommendation from PMC is to use "Blue Tack" as the material between the stands and the speakers, it seems a little weird to spend so much on isolation for the stands when the speakers are sitting on $ .75 worth of material I bought at the drug store. Maybe the Stillpoints would sit between the stands and the speakers?:doubtful:

Thoughts?

Has anybody tried them on Raidho's? I know that they have their own vibration control built into their stands, but just wondering if anybody has tried them.

And have you by chance compared the stillpoints to the HRS isolation base?

Thanks so much for info great help
Did you use the bases for levelling ?

Last question to any one has anyone used Ultra 5,s under Magico S5,s concerned the extra height will have an impact on sound
As not able to take the bases the spikes fit in of the speaker
Thanks this thread has been a great help to me

Yes easier to level via ultra 5s than screws built into AMG.

I have still points under s5 speakers. Magico adamantly says not to. I don't buy it. The notion of height is ridiculous. We are not all the same height nor is our furniture the same height so tweeter to ear level varies anyway based on person and seat height.

How would you describe the change to the S5s with the Stillpoints? I'm worried about excessive tipping of the highs and/or loss of bass weight.

Given weight etc I didn't do a/b test. These came out of crate and Stillpoint ultras went straight on.

You think thats good, wait until you put them under your amps. Then, if you think thats gooooood, wait until you put them under your speakers!!!!!!!

Kev...I'm pretty amazed with the results. I got quick question. what's the benefit of change the height on Ultra SS on CD player ?

Should I just leave as it is ? and the guy told me I would get benefit on CD player more than the Amps. Now you saying differently. Since the amp doesn't have any moving parts how does it work on sounds ?

At 2:15 still listening.....lol. Oh boy let me rephrase the word. I didn't upgrade the CD player I upgraded the WHOLE system. Unbelievable.

Paul, the top plate on the SS's should be at least half a turn loose, the rest is your preference. Me, I just use them to get even pressure on all 4 under the component The use under amps in my guess is that they dissipate vibration that could be caused by sound or mechanical as in transformer etc., either way, they work.

This is the way to go ;
Speakers
Amps
Power conditioner
Sources

Prepare your self, is not going to be
subtle the change in your speakers

:)

Vibrations and noise from the transformers. You will hear more
Blacker backgrounds and bigger
Soundstage
