Stanley Cup Playoffs

Definitely a team of destiny. The way they won the cup was truly dramatic. With all their comebacks and overtime wins it was a great journey to follow. I have been a serious hockey fan all my life and this run to the cup has been one of the most entertaining I have seen. CONGRATULATIONS KINGS!!

26 games total they played in those series! It has never been done before. It is truly exceptional. ...One for the history book.

The only problem is after watching hockey playoffs nearly every night for so long I am suffering from 'hockey withdrawal'. It was one of the best playoff seasons ever. Hockey Night in Canada did a great job.

I know we all root, like crazy for our teams. I am a NY Yankee fan (although not raised in NY) and really do not follow the other sports. However, when a NY team, such as the rangers makes it to the finals, it the lead story on every local newscast.

The Rangers are owned by the Dolans, who own the Knicks, Madison Square garden, Cablevision and the local newspaper, Newsday. I am not a fan of theirs as they control the news out here. That aside…

I consider my team has had a good year when they make it to the playoffs. I cannot live a year retroactively, that is, wait until October and the World Series to decide whether or not I enjoyed the last few months. I like enjoying the season.

Met fans in New York really dislike the Yankees and their fans. It is Met fans who constantly say to us: “It’s not a good year unless the Yankees win the World Series!” Well, they don’t apply that to themselves, and if they did, they have not had a good year for a quarter of a century! I never understood this animosity. J

It’s a really good year if your team makes it to the finals and a great year if they win.

But this has to stay FUN. People have made it more than that. Look at the riots at the world cup.

Man, right to the end. Aaghh!!

Well, we got a point after giving away the first goal. On to face Germany!

Hey hockey fans, and Canadians (hockey fans by birth, right?), check out the video on the GoPro Official Website - Capture + share your world home page. I was mesmerized by the puck handling skills. Wow!

Thanks Bob. I practiced with the Lightning in December. Stamkos worked with on this puck handling drill using this training thing that was about 15 feet long and had about 30 slots in it just barely big enough for the puck to go through. He went back and forth and back and forth through those 30 slots like they were nothing. The best we could do was 5 in a row. Amazing skills.

There are a lot of sports that require great skills, but hockey players, I believe, really must combine endurance, speed, agility, balance, and coordination unlike any other sport. I'm not the biggest hockey fan, but respect the hell out of the athleticism.

Like my high school football coach said, you've got to get the aisles covered... Mobile, Agile, Hostile!

Yes I'm very impressed. Don't I wish I had half those skills.
Mike do you have a picture 30 slots?
Barry

I don't. It looked like something the trainer or someone made. He said he does it for an hour by himself after practice. Geesh! When he did it, I thought "oh, that can't be that hard, it looks easy". HA! Not!
