Spotify is preparing to launch a Hi-Fi music tier

Anybody here using Spotify on a regular basis with their home/work audio systems (exclude mobile listening on the road)?

This is way bigger news than MQA - appears Apple may be about to offer it as well. Tidal may fold up once that happens. Cheers to finally getting back to Spotify's superior interface.

Great news. I much prefer Spotify's interface. Having higher quality is great all around.

I subscribe to both Spotify and Tidal. Spotify is my primary music discovery tool. Tidal is much clunkier IMO.

I transfer playlists from Spotify to Tidal via Soundizz

If Spotify goes lossless I'll probably drop Tidal.

If this happens will it be added to the services available on the Lumin streamers?

Currently you can already use Spotify app and AirPlay to Lumin at full quality without loss, even if Spotify launches Hi-Fi.

We intend to add support for Spotify Connect to Lumin, but that's primarily useful only to non-iOS users who can't use AirPlay, and for marketing reasons.

it's cool that mainstream attention is being brought to higher quality audio in a music streaming site. It's the equivalent of listening to cd's on your desktop, but without the hassle of storage.

I'll switch from my paid pandora subscription to spotify for this once spotify fixes it radio algorithm. i use internet streaming mainly for music discovery, and spotify doesn't help with that.
