Everyone likes a good poll !
I was just about to order small spikes to put under my shelves on my rack. But I began thinking, why spikes? I put large spikes on the bottom of the rack and large spikes will hold up the turntable shelf.
So I'm thinking rubber between the frame and shelves would be better for isolation and vibrations. But they won't look as cool as the polished nickle spikes I had planned. It is for the 2 middle shelves and would only contact the frame of the rack on the 3/4" maple in the 4 corners of each shelf. Thanks for your vote.

I say rubber in this app as well. The spiked stand will send the energy going through it into the floor to dissipate. The rubber under the shelves will take care of unwanted vibrations. That's my theory anyway!

Nice!!! I agree that's why I'm sitting here cutting Isoblocks into 1" squares right now lol, while I wait for wood fill to dry. I'm ready to paint and put together soon!!!!
The amp stand were the biggest PITA, and they are only temporary.
Thank Doug I was just looking for reassurance . :)

Rubber feet; that's what it's for (isolation/vibration-free).

* Spikes on shelves (diamond, or gold, or crystal points, ball bearings, ...) are for 'visionary' audiophiles (looks only).
Visionary audiophiles. Lol!!!!
I almost went the spike route, and it really was just because they looked cool.
Glad I thought about it.
Thanks!

Rubber if you want warm with less detail.Spikes if you want detail with top end.How many of the recognised top racks have you seen using rubber. I've experimented with hockey pucks squash balls etc, I don't use them anymore.Sorbathane yes, rubber,no!
