here's a pic of one we installed today, this is called the master artist Renoir and the Picasso 12" sub, its mounted with the new 100" Samsung panel, to say the least it rocks and sounds excellent with tv and of course music, anyone else use soundbars for there main tv?sb1.jpg
 
I’ve looked at soundbars, but the home we bought had a room with 5 in wall speakers.

But in rooms where you don’t want to see side/back/ceiling mounted speakers, I think they can be great.

As a recent kitten adopter I appreciate those metal grill things keeping your sub driver safe.
I have a pair of RELs that look too much like scratch pads, so I came up with a fiendish idea...
- I would surround them with a bed of nails! I found what I was looking for on Amazon.
I haven't tested it yet as the cats are still currently living in the kitchen. Their coming out party will be soon.

It has been awhile since I set up something for the living room. I have the TV on the wall with a 3.1 system, Marantz slim line receiver and Revel in-wall and sub. That was when we'd still spin a BD once in awhile. My wife uses that TV mostly in hindsight I should have used a soundbar for easier use.

A couple dealers have told me that soundbars is what most average viewers are wanting now.
 
I use a ZVox Sound Base in the bedroom. it's got a 6" sub inside along with a bunch of front speakers. Pretty decent sound for the money.
 
We have thought of getting some better sound for a bedroom TV, think it's about 50."
Is there a simple solution anyone might know of? No desire for a sub woofer, 5.1 etc; mainly more clarity in the spoken words.

Get you one of those Legacy centers with the 12" woofers, LOL

For just better dialogue in a bedroom a consumer type soundbar is all you'd need. I'm not sure what to recommend. Except if you know someone who is more of an installer who carries Atlantic Technologies they are very good with comparative pricing to big box stuff.

We use a pair of monitor audio silver RS 1's for TV with an older Denon AVR and an external DAC (Topping E50 which markedly improved the sound) to improve dialogue and detail. It sounds great. I had bought a new Onkyo 7100 AVR that Andrew Robinson touted and what a piece of crap it is. The much older Denon sounds way clearer and resolving.

I bet a pair of Monitor Audio Silver 100 bookshelf's would be great. They have 8" woofers so bass will not be a problem.
 
I use a Sonos Arc and a Sonos Sub. That works well.

Used to have a full McIntosh based surround sound system with Revel speakers around. Just too bulky in our new Carolina room.

Then maybe different cover (like a fabric grille)? I would think that the slotted acrylic plastic cover could partially obstruct/interfere with the sound.

correct, matisse has cloth grills, the Picasso we use thin plexiglass grills since alot of folks like to see the drivers
