as Joe would say HA!!
the beauty of those amps is that you can get a pair for a decent price and load em up with awesome tubes, and still not break the bank. and after hearing a load of tubes amps in my time these 300b's are doing better than the higher powered higher dollared amps ive heard or owned are doing. only problem is finding the right speakers. i lucked out that they drove the veneres, but im sure the 8w would pose a problem. but im thinking some nearfild bob stylelistening would work fine with 8w.
im moving my speakers tomm for a nearfield test.lol.

Ha! Indeed! It's a lot of fun but I'm starting to settle down. I'm enjoying what I have. Big time!

So Steve have you decided which Sophia 300b's you're going to try first? I like the mesh screens myself.
tough choice doug.lol. im thinking the first pair id like to try, would be these black bottle psvanes 300b-t. they are relatively inexpersive($375pr. lol) as far as the good 300b's i been looking at go. they do take a long 150-300 hours to break in which would give me time to save for the royal princess'. its a toss up between those and the sophia mesh plates. ive read about both and they both seem like great tubes but im guessing the big money ones i buy will be the sophias so maybe ill try something else first.
its all a crap shoot because i cant really hear any first, just gotta read, research, hope and guess.lol.

Steve I think at that level of tube you'll probably only hear subtle differences between them so think of it as buying spares. Maybe once you step up to the Princess line there will be a pronounced difference. Or real WE's!

Steve - how are the reviews on the Psvane T2?

i am trying out the t2 6sn7's next purchase. the budget i set out for 1st pair of 300b's is under $400 and the t2 is just over that. but whats $25.lol. i just figure when i buy the next pair of 300b's ill be spending around$1k and the first pair wont get any use. but its a hard call and im racking my brain trying to figure out which pair to buy.

well its no secret my love for sophia electric amplifiers. i will own a pair someday in the near future, as soon as i get some speakers that can handle 8 watts.
but until i was searching for 300b tubes for my amps i had no idea they also made vacuum tubes. and from the reviews i found on them, good ones too. so my next tube purchase will be a pair of these
6sn7's and 6sl7's they are priced well, for the top A grade(top 10%) they are $100 each . for the B grade the next 25% they are $80 each. and all the rest are $60.

Are they actually available? For ages tried to get the 12AX7s to try and they never were in stock.

Wuwang has always said they design their tubes. They are releasing two new tubes presently, an EL34 & a KT88 for which they are seeking patents.
There is an article in HiFi Wigwam which addresses this issue in detail.
The author contacted Wuwang, pressed and eventually extracted what he believed to be the truth.
I can't post the link because I'm new here.
It should be easy enough to find.

"So there we have it. When Richard Wugang says his tubes are a Sophia unique design, he is telling the truth. Sophia is also not a reseller, it is having tubes to its spec, using materials it specified and to a design that it developed, made in an overseas factory. However, the realities that go with off-shoring manufacture to China mean that Wugang has had to bite his tongue while his manufacturing partner sells to other brands the graded remaining production. But I can’t help wonder at the situation that this symbiotic and deliberately ambiguous relationship has led to. It’s muddied the waters around the Sophia brand, leading to Sophia Electric not receiving the recognition that its investment in R&D effort and intellectual property deserves, and enabling it to be incorrectly dismissed by some as the over-priced re-seller of someone else’s design. That is a cruel irony, but it has to be said that it is largely a self-inflicted one."

hey thanks for that and welcome to the forum!!!! i too have been wondering about the diffrences between sophia and tj full musc. i searched for the hifi wigwam article and found 2 , both very interesting. a friend of mine has amps that came with real w.e 300b's. he says both the royal princess and the kr audio balloons sound better than the originals in his opinion. hes told me he has tried most all 300b tubes that are available. and hifi wigwam guy says the same for his amps. very interesting
