In April, Sony reported net profit of 380bn yen for last year, a seven-fold increase on 2016.

Wow! Is that number correct?
I'm having a problem just trying to comprehend the size of their operations.

p.s. Just did the conversion. 380 billion yen is about 3.42 billion USD
Still a big number but much more manageable mentally.

I found the EMI number even more interesting, significant loss in case I remember correctly

Bloomberg seems to be the only publication which mentioned the "optimistic" evaluation.

Sony seems to be upbeat on the value proposition but yes ...
This is despite the decline/disruption in the music industry.
