Something new from Nordost

Not that I am aware of, hopefully it's a titanium adjustable sort cone footer. A great design for Raidho to use on their stands and give us a rake option.

I've just placed an order for a premium set of Nordost Sort Fut tuned resonators to fit on my equipment rack.

Just wondering if any others had tried the footers in this location and what if any observations were made?

Thanks!

Ralph, did you choose the Nordost over the Ansuz Darkz for any particular reason?

Perfect timing Nelson. I will look forward to reading your thoughts on how the two compare.

I know this thread is old, but has anyone installed these, and what were the results?

I've had them installed on my PMCS fact 8 speakers for a few days now. They are beautifully crafted. As to how they sound, I'm not really sure. My system sounds the best I've ever heard but Its hard for me to say how the sort fut system is contributing to that. But the principle of the device makes sense to me and I like the concept far more than spikes. The entire speaker is decoupled from the ground and basically floating on ballbearings. The sound is crisp, focused, and rock solid. Zero smearing or blur. But as I said, not sure how much of that is due to the sort fut. But for me, it's worth the investment to know I'm leaving no stone unturned in my pursuit of great sound. Also, I feel like these are a long term investment since Nordost makes adapters that will fit any speaker, I can continue to use them for years to come regardless of speaker changes that may occur.

Thanks for your response. I am going to borrow a set from my local dealer and give them a try. I received three Nordost Sort - Kone TC for Christmas. I placed them under my phono preamp (Art Audio Vinyl One) and they made a positive difference lowering the noise floor and better defining the image.

I installed these yesterday under my Proac Response D40r speakers. I have only played a few records so far.Noticeable changes on first listen were a reduction in "grunge" overall. There were songs I was very familiar with where vocal and instruments we more clear and pure, with distortion (that I did not realize was there) now removed. The image was more solidly placed with vocals and instruments separated from the background. A very marked improvement from the stock spikes that came with the speakers. They required careful leveling to sound their best.

And the speakers feel stable with these underneath them? How do you affix to the speakers (screw them in like regular spikes...assuming there are standard thread sizes)?

Mike, I have always wanted to try them also. I can now say they really make an easily audible positive difference. I was skeptical about all of this until I put a set of Sort Kones under a phono preamp. I did not expect much and the result was an easily audible improvement. Based on that and other user reports on the Sort Fut I bought them and I am very happy with the results.Cyril, the speakers are completely stable on the Sort Fut after they are leveled. They come with three different threaded adapters, so they can screw in replacing your factory spikes or feet. I think other sizes are available if the supplied adapters do not work. In my case one of the threaded adapters fit my speakers perfectly. If you have large speakers it is better done as a two person job, and would have been much easier for me if I had some help. I also used the locks (not required) and cups (required for a hardwood floor, bot not carpet).Your results may be different, but mine were great.

I've had four Sort Fut footers under my equipment rack for sometime. I think they are excellent. I'm also a big fan of the Sort TC Kones for placement under components.

Ralph,

I'm trying to get some loaner Sort TC cones to try out as suggested.. Versus the CMS Rize footers and Stillpoint mini-risers that I have now.

For financial reasons I'd prefer to use 3 rather than 4 cones...

Your experience 3 vs 4 ?? Fitment dependent on which components ?

All the best,

Tom SE MI
