If you need help with a malfunctioning piece of hardware, or with the installation of anything analog, here's a shameless plug for Jim Fuller of Restoration Audio (and Goodwin's High End).

Jim has been the national service tech for dCS for years, so he clearly knows digital electronics, but he has also worked at Goodwin's for over a decade, installing turntables, tonearms and cartridges, as well as performing repairs. In other words, he can probably help you with any malfunctioning piece of audio gear.

He recently left Goodwin's to set up his own shop in Putney, VT, although he will still be working for Goodwin's on the side.

Jim just installed a stereo cartridge, and a tonearm and mono cartridge, for me, and did so quickly and effortlessly. While I know many of you can do this yourselves, and maybe I could too, I'd rather hire an expert who's done it hundreds of times. That way nothing gets broken, and I know it's done right the first time.

If you're near Boston or anywhere close to southern Vermont and need audio work done, I hope you consider using Jim. Here's a link to his website. And even if you aren't close, I bet he'd be happy to help you with anything shipped to him.

Hello Audioshark members and thanks so much to you Jon and you Cyril for the votes of confidence and support.

To all readers, please keep me, Jim Fuller, in mind for any audio repairs or modifications or high end turntable tweaks and setups. I've been a hobbyist at this since I was a kid and I take things apart and put them back together better than they were. I'm good at it and have done it professionally since the early 80's.

So...speakers and turntables are specialties, and I've also been an electronics FM radio technician in the Air Force (back in the day) and taught amplifier, semiconductor and solid state physics theory at the college level for a few years. I troubleshoot to the component level and have decades of sterling references available.

I'm building a new shop location, and am currently traveling to clients as needed and working in house. Yes, house calls. From the Boston area to Western Mass, all of Vermont and southern New Hampshire. (Will also do Maine, Rhode Island and northeastern Connecticut if emergency.)

I work on all brands, specializing in high end gear.

Forgive my amateur website, not my forte. If website design is your specialty please message me!

Thanks!
Jim F.

Jim....there is a great community of folks here and hopefully anyone needing turntable setup and speaker or amplifier repairs in the greater New England area will reach out to you. Best of luck with the new venture and I am assuming as Jon said above, you are still doing some stuff with Goodwins right?
