I did a simple room treatment yesterday - I removed the coffee table that was between me and my main speakers. The result is better imaging between the speakers and improved bass. There is more bass now and the sound is more balanced as it was lacking a bit in the past. It improved so much that I removed the Axiom sub from the system altogether and moved it into my bedroom system (replacing a M&K MX70 sub). It looks a little strange not having anything in front of the sofa but the audio improvement more than makes up for it. And you can't beat the cost of this tweak (free).

Here are a few snaps of the way my system looks now. The first is the general layout, the second is how it looks from a seated position and the third is of my new Ray Lumley amps (finally home and sounding great).

Amazing how furniture can impact sound. 2 weeks ago I removed a large leather sofa and chair in my listening room. Sitting in the same place now the bass is more present and less reflection going on - at first I thought I lost some sparkle on top but then realized it was just reflections that I had previously over-compensated for by putting up too many absorption panels.
