Signal Projects Cables...

Well, I’ve had these Andromeda IC XLRs for a couple of weeks, I’m returning them to Mike this week. They are absolutely wonderful.

My entire IC loom is WW Platinum 8. So a change is not in my plan at this point. But the Signal Andromedas are quite impressive.

If looking for a full range presentation - strong bottom with a very real mid and wonderful extension, this is a wire to consider.
Great cables indeed.

I listened to the Hydra RCA's vs. the next level up Apollon series.

I think the Hydra is the sweet spot in the line for many people. Although to my ears the Apollon are the Hydra on steroids - it's the 80/20 rule: I think 80% of the people will be amazed with the Hydra's but for those really wanting the best the of the two the Apollon is clearly a step above.

What have I decided to do? I'm selling the Siltech speaker cables and RCA's that were in its place and going to upgrade to the Apollon. My only decision now is that I may need a 2m length instead of the 1m I have here.

Guys - these cables are the real deal unlike most cables in my experience that are more hassle to find decent ones than it's worth.

I'll be detailing the differences in a video.

If anyone is still watching this thread, speaking of a USB cable I'm impressed by what I've heard about the Signal Projects' cables, and in particular their Andromeda line. Since I'd probably have to buy blind (U.S.), my main question is tonality, specifically does it have a touch of warmth? Not much, and definitely not lush, but I like something that keeps me emotionally engaged with the music, as opposed to watching its reproduction, as neutral cables do.

In the Andromeda's price range, that is, in the $2500-$3000+ price range, I've recently auditioned the Shunyata Omega-X, the Synergistic Research Galileo Discovery SRX and am currently about 200 hours into auditioning an AAI Estremo. The latter is as good as I've heard in most every respect but one: it's tonally (digitally) bright, or pitch-elevated, with piano and vibraphone, for example, sounding near electric. That doesn't seem a burnin issue, as it's been that way without variance since day one.

Hello! I've played with quite a few USB cables in that price range including some you've mentioned. To my personal preference, I like the Signal Projects USB and the STEALTH Audio.

They are a little different in their sound presentation.

The STEALTH is more neutral with a touch of warmth - never bright but lots of detail. It can be fine tuned with their slider to your personal taste. But on some gear it leaves me wishing for a bit more.

The Signal Projects - which I am currently running - is a bit more fleshed-out sounding than the STEALTH while never sounding overly warm. I love what it does with vocals and is super-airy sounding. Extremely engaging.

My personal preference is the SP first and the STEALTH 2nd over all the cables I've tried up till now. I am running STEALTH speaker cables currently as I have not tried the SP speaker cables.

Hope that helps.

Good timing! I just gave them a quick listen last night.

Here is the best way I can describe them: they took the best of the Clarisys that I was hearing on certain songs in terms of fullness and body, and added just the right amount of that to my Tobians.

Previous RCA's were Siltech.

I also have been searching for a bit more fullness in my amp and DAC and have been going through NOS tubes trying to find it. The SP's have given me that touch of body and warmth I was looking while giving SUPERB amounts of insight and information on the music.

It's the Hydra RCA's I'm listening to first and the XLR's are burning in.

I hate cables. I think they are a pain in the ass, and honestly most just sound mediocre at best and are usually 1-step forward and 2 steps back.

So far, I LOVE the Hydra RCA's.

To be clear the Siltech's are excellent cables: clear, insightful and never ever sound harsh.

I just posted for sale a like-new pair of Siltech interconnects at 50% off if anyone is interested.... ;)
Could you PM me with the Siltech model and length and price you are asking please? Thanks.
