Well Shure does manage a large portfolio of equipment other than a few phono cartridge as they only had 6 cartridges

The timing seems odd given the small resurgence in vinyl, but it might simply be from a bottom line profitability standpoint.

Agree, it does seem odd to keep going through the low point and then stop during this vinyl renaissance!

their microphones are so popular and i am sure shure will be going on for many years , i guess its akin to other munufacturers giving up cd production or pre amp production

Not sure this manufacturer is basing its business strategies on their small line of needles, regardless of the small resurgence in vinyl.
