I am late to the Shunyata party, but have recently discovered their Sigma line of USB and s/pdif digital cables. This past week I replaced a Wireworld Platinum Starlight coaxial cable with a Shunyata Sigma s/pdif digital cable. The result has proven exciting and enlightening. The Wireworld Platinum Starlight digital coax has served as my reference digital cable between the Aurender N10 and the Esoteric K-01X DAC in the studio system for several years. I have been quite satisfied with its performance, but I must admit the Shunyata Sigma s/pdif digital cable substantially raised the performance bar. Noteworthy is the improved clarity and focus of the soundstage. Voices and instruments are more accurately defined in their own space with greater separation. The transparency and general clarity of all sounds gained refinement that creates a more lifelike sense of realism. Bass sounds thicker, more robust, with improved decay. In certain moments their was such startling realism to the music that I was practically in disbelief of what I was hearing. The Shunyata Sigma s/pdif digital cable is remarkable. It now serves as my new reference digital cable in the studio system.
I became interested in the Shunyata Sigma s/pdif cable about a month ago after adding the Shunyata Sigma USB cable between the Aurender N100H music server and the Schiit Audio Yggdrasil Analog 2 DAC in the living room system. The Sigma USB cable replaced a Wireworld Platinum Starlight 7 USB cable. The improved resolution, clarity, and dynamic energy the Shunyata Sigma USB cable brought to the living room system was very nearly like a component change. The improved focus on voices and instruments, and the more accurately defined three dimensional characteristics of the soundstage has been startling. There really is no comparison between the WW Platinum Starlight USB cable and the Shunyata Sigma USB cable.
It is my complete satisfaction with the Shunyata Sigma USB cable in the living room system that ignited my curiosity about Shunyata Sigma s/pdif digital cable. I had to scratch that itch, and I am very pleased I did. These two Shunyata digital cables have elevated the performance of both sound systems. In my opinion, the most die hard audio enthusiasts will be more than satisfied with these Shunyata Sigma series digital cables. Color me a happy camper.
